The Synod Process at Santa Clara Parish and Chapel
Lent 2022
In October 2021, our Holy Father Pope Francis convened a worldwide assembly of the faithful to create a listening platform for all, from church figures to people in the pew. Synod 2021-2023 will officially culminate during a worldwide assembly of bishops in Rome in 2023. This initiative begins and ends in the parish community, and I would like to share with you a few thoughts about this process as we begin our parish planning for a couple of events in March.
The Synod Process also involves two distinct areas of dialogue. Summarized, these two areas are:
- Learning who is and who is not walking with Jesus Christ in the Church today and listening to and speaking for the excluded and marginalized
- Celebrating our faith in prayer and liturgy and inviting our family back home to the church and liturgy.
How can you participate in the Synod process here at Santa Clara? In late March, we will engage together in a couple of one-day sessions at our parish: in English and Spanish, with one at the church and one at the chapel for a total of four sessions.
The dates for our Santa Clara Parish and Chapel Synod Sessions** are:- Tuesday, March 29th 6:30pm-9:00pm at the Church (english)
- Tuesday, March 29th 6:30pm-9:00pm at the Chapel (english)
- Thursday, March 31st 6:30pm-9:00pm at the Church (espanol)
- Thursday, March 31st at 6:30pm-9:00pm at the Chapel (espanol)
